Thanks to everyone who made it out to the FYI studio for our 6th Birthday last night in NYC. Despite battling the first snow storm of the season, the crowd enjoyed presentations from Ted & Jonathan of Limebits, Michael from Aviary, Spot of Electric Sheep and an fantastic performance by Sarah Elizabeth Foster.

Happy Birthday may or may not have been sung, and many free beers were consumed. Check out Ben Sisto’s free photos of the evening if you want to see more proof.

Special thanks goes to everyone who helped setup and break down, and especially to For Your Imagination for supplying their awesome studio space in the face of a intimidating RSVP list.

Most importantly, please take a minute to fill out our quick survey so we can solicit feedback about our Salons. You can also use the survey to give us your e-mail address so we can let you know about future events.

I was not expecting our humble NYC CC Salon / Birthday to become so popular that I had to find a new venue, but that’s what has happened.

With over 140 people and 76 maybes RSVP’d, TOPP and I were a little worried about whether the building would still be standing after the event.

So our friends at For Your Imagination have graciously offered us their loft for the event on Tuesday. I’ve amended the address on the Facebook event and blog post, but here it is anyway:

Tuesday, December 16th from 7-10pm
For Your Imagination
22 W. 27th St., 6th Floor
New York, NY

As usual there will be beer and a reception afterwards, so we look forward to seeing you!

Creative Commons turns 6 in mid-December, and we’ll be celebrating Salon style (as has been the tradition in NYC for CC’s birthdays in years past) at <s>The Open Planning Project once again</s> For Your Imagination on December 16th with a Salon and free beer. Since its our birthday there will be some special birthday surprises as well.

December’s Salon will feature presentations by Michael Galpert from Aviary.com (who was unable to make it to September’s Salon but is joining us this time), LimeBits’ Jonathan Marshall & Ted Metcalfe, Spot from the Electric Sheep CC-licensed screen saver, and a special musical performance from Sarah Elizabeth Foster, whose new CD is CC licensed.

Here are the details:
