Jack Hardinges is an independent consultant specialising in complex data infrastructures and responsible data governance. Jack is working with CC to help document and understand the impacts of advances in artificial intelligence on the digital commons, as well as provide strategic input to its response. Jack was previously Head of Research & Programmes at the Open Data Institute, and is a Board Member of Open Supply Hub, a US non-profit that makes supply chain data open, accessible and trusted for the public benefit.

Despite the importance of attribution, many of today’s AI systems fail to acknowledge the sources of knowledge and creativity that make them possible.
