Annemarie joined Creative Commons in 2025, supporting the organization’s external communications, messaging, and brand work. Before CC, Annemarie worked at a variety of nonprofits, including Coffee House Press, the Hennepin County library system, and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Her sweet spot is at the intersection of digital engagement, storytelling, and narrative change. Annemarie is located in Portland, OR, with her wife, two dogs, and two cats.

25 Years of Partnership: CC at Wikimania 2026

With both Wikipedia and Creative Commons turning 25 this year, our participation in Wikimania 2026 felt especially meaningful. A quarter-century in, both organizations have evolved from scrappy experiments to global infrastructure. Our community has grown through a shared commitment to openness, access, and knowledge. The weeklong conference reaffirmed that commitment as AI is reshaping how we access knowledge and share online.
